  5. It was a delight to have the honour to hold my last encaustic workshop with Maria. Thank you so much for joining me.

Maria has kindly sent this testimonial -  I am a new artist to the world of encaustic painting so Dawn had her work cut out from the beginning.  We met in her studio in Lyme Regis for a 2-day course.

Dawn was welcoming and well prepared, setting her studio out for the days ahead.  We spent the first day learning the art of sizing the first layers of wax, followed by Dawn sharing her extensive knowledge of the techniques used to build up the wax to enhance the piece.  This included using incising lines and forming texture, collage, carbon paper, photographs transfer, using different papers, pigments etc.

The Second day was used to try out all the processes I had been taught. Under Dawn's one -to-one care.  I was able to complete several pieces of work.  Dawn was patience and chatty.  She openly explained the processes to her work and the things she has discovered over the years.  We had many cups of teas, chocolate biscuits and lunch both days.  I look forward to setting up my own home to continue the experience and will definitely be popping in to see Dawn in the future.  This was a 5 Star experience and worth every penny.
